Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 11, 2026

This policy explains what information The Homeward Plan collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

The Homeward Plan is operated by Sepio, LLC ("Sepio," "we," "us," "our"), a California limited liability company. The Homeward Plan is a subscription membership powered by Sepio Guard's Away From Home Assurance®. This policy covers thehomewardplan.com and the membership enrollment process on it.

The short version. We collect the information we need to enroll you and to bring you home if you die away from home. We share it only with the companies that help us run the service: our payment processor, our form and hosting providers, and our own systems. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers for their own purposes.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you enroll, we ask for:

We collect your address because the entire membership depends on it: the service applies when a death occurs 75 miles or more from your legal residence, so we need to know where that is. We collect your date of birth to identify you correctly, not to price or qualify your membership. There are no health questions and no age limits.

If you start enrolling and stop partway through, we may still hold the information you entered before you stopped, so that we can help you pick up where you left off or answer a question. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Payment information

We never see or store your card number. Payments are processed by Stripe, and card details are entered on Stripe's own secure checkout page. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded, along with the plan, the amount, and identifiers Stripe uses to manage your subscription.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site we collect standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how long you stayed, and the site or link that sent you. We use this to understand which of our advertising works and to find problems on the site.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and browser storage for a small number of purposes:

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. The enrollment form will still work, but it may not remember your progress.

2. How we use your information

3. Who we share it with

We share your information with the service providers we need to run the membership. They may use it only to provide their service to us.

WhoWhat they receive and why
StripePayment processing and subscription billing. Stripe handles your card details directly on its own secure checkout page; we never receive or store them.
Sepio GuardYour membership record, so the care team can identify you and coordinate transport when it is needed. Sepio Guard fulfills the service.
Hosting and website providersWebsite hosting and secure handling of the enrollment form.
Customer record and email providersMember records and email communication, once you have completed a purchase.
Analytics and advertising providersAddress lookup while you type, website analytics, and measurement of whether our advertising works.
Funeral homes and transport providersOnly when transport services are actually needed, and only the information required to carry them out.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights and safety of members and the public. If our business is sold or merged, membership records may transfer as part of that transaction; this policy would continue to apply to information transferred.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising by other companies. We have not done so in the past twelve months.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your membership record for as long as you are a member, and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, normally seven years. Because this is a service that may be called upon many years after you enroll, we deliberately retain enough information to identify you and honour the agreement.

Information from enrollments that were never completed is kept for a shorter period and deleted on request.

5. How we protect it

Your information is transmitted over encrypted connections and held in access-controlled systems. Card details never reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold.

6. Your choices and rights

Everyone

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and sell; to request deletion; to request correction; to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither); to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may make a request yourself or through an authorised agent by contacting us below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.

The categories of personal information we collect are identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, and geolocation inferred from your address. Our purposes and the parties we disclose to are described in sections 2 and 3 above.

Other states

Residents of states with comparable privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and Texas, have similar rights of access, correction, deletion and appeal. Contact us using the details below and we will honour them.

7. Children

The Homeward Plan is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Other websites

Our site links to other places, such as Stripe's checkout page, Sepio Guard's site, and an embedded video. Once you are on another company's site, their privacy policy applies, not ours.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we will tell members by email.
